Welcome to our latest review, the Marvos X 100W pod mod kit from Freemax which includes the 2ml Marvos CRC (child resistant cap) pod.
It is always with great pleasure when we receive ANY pod or mod from Freemax, especially their Marvos or Maxus range, as we know only too well now that the quality, performance, and functionality of their products really are outstanding.
Over the last couple of years, we’ve reviewed the majority of their devices, all of which we still use today. While there are literally thousands of different devices in the marketplace today, sadly far too many disposables, Freemax continues to output full function pods and mods. Not only that, they continue to excel with their designs with performance to match.
The trend recently is for just simple plug and play devices, even throw away pods or disposables but when faced with a device that can be fine-tuned, adjusted to suit your vaping style, and last for several years with only needing replaceable coils, then look no further.
Any of the Marvos or Maxus series range of kits will provide this and a lot more too. If you want simplicity they will do it, if you want to tweak and fiddle and get the best possible vape experience, they will do that also. The capability is there if you want it.
Sit back, relax and see what the Marvos X has to offer!
Overview
The Marvos X is a full-function 100W pod mod kit, powered by a single external 18650 battery, uses the new CRC 2ml pod (5ml standard) and boasts a 0.96inch OLED selectable color changing screen.
Reminiscent of the Maxus Solo, the front of the mod is transparent so you can see the electronics below the control buttons with the main UI screen appearing as if it’s floating in the air. There are two full length bands running the length of the transparent face with a further band running around the battery compartment that illuminate, cycle or flash in every color of the rainbow. Freemax markets this as Full Spectrum Vaping. Don’t panic….you can switch the light effects off if you prefer!
Also, very similar to the Maxus Max 168W kit, you could be forgiven for thinking it’s a mod. The dual Cyclops adjustable airflow ring housed below the magnetic pod is physically fixed to the Marvos X body. This gives the impression of a standard 510 threaded tank.
It’s fair to say the Marvos X combines the styling and function seen on the earlier Maxus Solo and the Maxus Max 168W kits. Both are really good devices so why not take the best of both.
A 2A Type-C USB fast charging port is located on the front panel just below the + and – control buttons and the large square fire button is positioned at the top end of the display. A small sliding Lock/Unlock switch below the Type-C USB port stops the mod from firing rather than the usual 3 clicks of the fire button.
Control of the Marvos X is carried out by the upgraded FM Chip 2.0, providing accurate power levels, ultra-fast firing speeds and the usual host of safety features. Its full feature operating modes include Power (wattage), Smart Mode, Variable Power Control (VPC) and Bypass.
The Marvos CRC pod is transparent, has an e-liquid capacity of 2ml (5ml standard), is re-fillable via a top fill lift and slide to open the top cap, and accepts the new MS-D Mesh series of push-fit coils. Two coils are included in the kit, a 0.15ohm MS-D coil and a 0.25ohm MS-D coil.
These coils utilize Freemax’s FM COILTECH 5.0/Double-D mesh technology which pioneers a parallel mesh structure boasting a 50% increase in flavor and heating speed. Their existing MS mesh coils using FM COILTECH 4.0 are also compatible with the CRC pod.
Fixing the Marvos CRC pod is achieved by 4 strong magnets on the base of the pod that locks to the circular steel contact plate inside the airflow housing. The CRC pod also incorporates a removable wide bore 810 mouthpiece.
Overall, the Marvos X, is very stylish and a very impressive looking pod mod kit. I loved the transparent front face plate and the lighting effects on their other devices and am pleased to see them implemented on this one. Also, the engraved leather paneling with the red stitching on the reverse side of the Marvos X makes this really stand out.

I like that Freemax provides a good set of instructions in their manuals BUT you may well notice the manual isn’t included in the what’s in the box photo.
I was writing up this review while enjoying a lovely day relaxing in the garden, manual and bits on the table with a nice cool beer. Before I realized it, the wind picked up and blew the manual right into my pond. Sadly that was the end of that. I managed to retrieve it but there wasn’t much left; it was such a nice manual too!
Freemax Marvos X 100W Pod Mod Design and Appearance
The dimensions of the Marvos X 100W pod mod are 33mm depth x 31mm width x 101mm tall and weighs in at 117 grams excluding the battery. The shape of the Marvos X 100W pod mod is a rectangular tube design, although not quite circular, with indents and contours around its length and diameter.
A single external 18650 battery powers the mod with the battery being fitted behind a magnetic back panel. This panel is pretty thick and robust and has a leather engraved and embossed finish with lovely stitching on its outer surface. Removing this panel is best done by grasping each side of the panel at the top and releasing the magnetic catch, it will then simply lift away once one magnet is released.
Once removed, the entire battery compartment is encased in a white semi-transparent molding which protects the inner electronics and workings. The battery orientation is clearly identified with a + and – stamped into the white housing showing the correct position in the battery is to be fitted. The positive terminal of the battery points toward the top of the pod and the negative terminal to the base.
Replacing the battery panel is simply carried out by offering the panel against the back of the Marvos X and the two magnets in the back panel will latch and lock the panel into position.
One observation we noticed is when the battery is inserted, the Marvos X powers up straight away. This is NOT an issue, just the way the software functions as it does on other Freemax devices. It can be powered off using 5 clicks of the fire button.
Charging the battery in the mod can be carried out using the supplied charging cable plugged into the Type-C USB port on the lower part of the front panel, just below the + and – control buttons. This USB port is specified as 5V/2A so will charge your battery pretty quickly but as always I would recommend using an external battery charger.
The Marvos X is constructed out of Zinc-Alloy and Stainless Steel with a leather back battery cover panel and a smoked black tinted transparent screen covering the front of the mod where the UI display, control buttons, and the Type-C USB port are located. Because it’s transparent you can see all of the electronics and circuit boards beneath especially when it’s illuminated.
At the top of the Marvos X pod mod is the large dual Cyclops slot fully adjustable airflow control ring which is raised and forms the housing to which the pod is attached. In this housing is a large circular ring plate to which the magnets on the bottom of the pod attach.
Below the center of this ring is two gold-plated spring-loaded coil contact pins that make contact with the coil when the pod is fitted. This housing is secured to the top of the Marvos X body and can’t be removed.
Airflow control is carried out by rotating the quarter-turn knurled ring which opens and closes the two fully adjustable airflow rectangular Cyclops slots. The resistance of the airflow control ring is very positive so there is no fear of it moving accidentally.
The front of the Marvos X 100W has a full length smoked black face plate with the 0.96 inches OLED colored display screen centrally embedded beneath. The display is very clear and clean and when the display is illuminated it looks like the display is literally floating in the faceplate.
The + and – rectangular-shaped control buttons are positioned towards the bottom of the mod just above the Type-C USB port. The large square fire button is positioned above the IML display towards the top of the Marvos X body.
Below the black-tinted transparent faceplate at the bottom of the Marvos body is a small sliding switch that locks/unlocks the device. This replaces the more conventional 3/5 clicks of the fire button. Strangely enough, there is no screen printing around this button to identify what it is BUT when switched, the display will highlight the Lock/Unlock position.
Each of these buttons has a very positive click feel to them with no button rattle.
There are 6 available color options in the Marvos X range, these being Black, Grey, Light Blue, Navy Blue, Brown, and Green with 3 different Leather symbol designs, God of War, Horse and Eagle. The one I received from Freemax and shown in the photos is Black in color.
Looking at their other colors, it’s great to see that 3 different color frames and matching CRC pods are also available which complement the leather artwork colors of Neptune, Mars, and Jupiter.
- Black Frame and Pod:- Grey and Light Blue Leather
- Silver Frame and Pod:- Navy Blue and Black Leather
- Gunmetal Frame and Pod:- Brown and Green Leather
The bottom base of the Marvos X is totally flat with two flush hex screws that secure this base to the body of the mod. The surface is branded with “Freemax”, “Designed by Freemax”, “Made In China” and the usual “CE” markings. Because the surface area of the base covers the whole diameter of the device, there is no problem with it standing upright.
I’ve left the best bit till last as you’ll either love it or hate it. We first came across this on the Maxus Solo and it’s what Freemax term “Full Spectrum Vaping”. Running along the sides of the black tinted transparent face plate and around the back battery cover is what appear to be inconspicuous semi-opaque channels.
Hit the fire button or press the + or – control buttons and all hell is unleashed!
The entire front of the Marvos X and the channel around the battery cover will illuminate, cycle or flash in every possible color known to man with 10 different selectable patterns in the software menu options. The brightness and speed, even each individual color can be adjusted too. While this looks really impressive, after a while it can be a little over the top. Don’t worry, it can all be switched off or dimmed down to look less conspicuous.
All of the user information is clearly visible on the display, even in pretty bright sunlight. Different color displays and backlit color options are selectable via the “Set” menu which can also be switched on / off or fully configurable. Further explanation of these options is detailed in the Functionality section of this review.
The information on the main display includes the following:
- Selected mode (Power/Smart/VPC/Bypass)
- Battery level indicator
- Wattage / Voltage levels
- Coil resistance reading
- Puff Counter
Branding is pretty discrete and limited to the words “Marvos X” branded into the leather rear battery panel. The font spans the length of the battery panel and is quite large but because it’s in the same color it blends in really well so doesn’t appear obvious.
The Smart FM 2.0 Chipset in the Marvos X mod provides all the necessary protection and will display these notifications on the 0.96inch OLED display screen:
- Time Out (10s)
- No Atomizer / Open Circuit (no resistance detected)
- High-Temperature Protection
- Low Voltage / Battery Low
- Atomizer Short / Low Resistance Protection
- Reverse Battery Protection
- Over Charge Protection
- Device Lock / Unlock
I’m very impressed with the design and appearance of the Marvos X 100W mod, the build quality looks and feels really good. The transparent screen and light show on the front and back paneling will keep you amused for hours.
Don’t be put off by the glitzy light effects, they are easily switched off or adjusted as you wish. I have to say I do like the effects and am impressed that you can make it as outlandish or subtle as you want.
I remember taking my grandson to a fireworks display a few years ago and being pestered to buy him one of those multicolored carnival-type rings or light sabers. No need anymore…the Marvos X knocks spots off those things and it vapes too, what’s NOT to like.
Freemax Marvos CRC Pod Design and Appearance
The Marvos CRC pod is 26mm in diameter by 41.24mm tall with a 5ml e-liquid capacity (2ml TPD). The top fill design is child-proof by incorporating a spring-loaded pull-to-open and slide-backward filling system. When open, the fill port measures approximately 9mm to allow for a large tip e-liquid bottle to be used. Depending on the size of the e-liquid bottle you’re using, it is at times easier to remove the drip tip if you’re using larger bottles.
To release and open the top cap, lift the silver top cap approx. 3mm up and slide back in the direction of the small arrow that’s underneath the words “Freemax”. When the top cap is open, you can look down the 810 drip tip and you’ll see a small air release valve. This prevents the e-liquid from spilling back out of the fill port while you’re filling the pod. Closing the fill port is done by sliding the top cap back into the closed position and it will spring back shut.
Manufactured out of PCTG material, it’s specifically designed for DTL vaping with increased airflow and a V-shaped design to help prevent spit back. The mouthpiece is a removable wide bore 810 drip tip and is semi-opaque black in color. The drip tip incorporates 2 silicone O-Rings that do a very good job of securing the mouthpiece into the pod.
On the underside of the pod are 4 strong magnets that locate and fix into the dual Cyclops fully adjustable airflow control housing on the Marvos X body. These magnets secure the CRC pod against the circular steel ring plate in that housing.
The pod accepts both the MS and MS-D range of push-fit replaceable coils which are simply pushed into place into the circular opening from the bottom of the pod. The 3 O-Rings on the coil, 2 at the top and 1 at the bottom of the coil do a good job of sealing the coil in place to prevent any e-liquid seepage.
Removing the pod is carried out by simply pulling the pod body up and away from the airflow control housing.
When the pod is attached to the Marvos X, if the pod mod is set to Smart mode, the coil will be automatically recognized and the optimum wattage will be set on the device for that particular coil.
Branding is very minimal with the words “Freemax” screen printed on the side of the top cap in very small lettering. The direction that the top cap lifts and slides are shown by the little arrow below the Freemax branding.
The words “Marvos CRC Pod”, “MS Mesh Compatible” and “Made In China” are screen printed on the bottom side of the Marvos CRC pod. When the pod is in situ, the later branding is not visible as it sits inside the airflow control ring housing.
The other pods: Marvos DTL pod, Marvos RTA pod, and Marvos Glass pod also fit in the airflow housing so lot of cross-compatibility.
Freemax Marvos X 100W Pod Mod Functionality
The Marvos X 100W pod mod, in addition to the vast array of color and lighting effects, is a Variable Wattage device (Power) with additional functions of Smart Mode, Variable Power Curve (VCR), and Bypass. It doesn’t include Temperature Control but as I don’t normally use it that’s no issue for me.
It’s worth having a little read of the manual to familiarize yourself with the structure of the menus or alternatively fiddle as I do. The manual is very good and the menu structure is straightforward and easy to follow. It’s not overly complicated and you’ll get the hang of it in no time.
The Marvos X uses a 0.96-inch colored OLED display to show all of the set parameters and changes to these are carried out by sequential presses of the fire button and the +/- buttons.
A quick start guide of the basic functions is:
- The front slide switch will Lock/Unlock the complete device
- The fire button pressed 5 times turns the device on or off
- Fire button pressed 3 times will switch to the main menu settings

Turning the Marvos X 100W mod on and off is carried out by pressing the fire button 5 times in quick succession. When initially turning on, the screen will display “X” with “Freemax” underneath and then the control chip version “FMOS 2.0”. After that, the display shows the mode you are in, displaying the coil resistance, volts, wattage, puff counter and battery status. 5 clicks of the button will turn off the Marvos X with the message “Goodbye”.
Switching between the different modes is very straightforward and the display is very intuitive. The display is not cluttered and the size of the numerical information is good making it easy to read. The brightness of display is nice and bright so will be no trouble seeing it in normal sunlight.
The inactivity of any button pressed after a period of 30 seconds will put the display into standby mode (blank).
Locking and unlocking the device is carried out by sliding the small switch on the front of the Marvos X. This will enable or disable all functions i.e. the fire button and the + / – control buttons. When switched, the display will highlight “Display Lock” with a sliding bar icon showing the direction of the switch to Lock/Unlock.
Pressing the + and – buttons simultaneously for 1 second will “Lock” or “Unlock” the Key Lock. This enables or disables the + / – buttons leaving just the Fire button operative. There is no lock symbol on the main display but pressing either the + or – buttons will highlight a “Key Lock” symbol and prompt on the display screen.
Menu Options
To access the different menus, press the fire button 3 times and the display will switch to the following screen:
- Mode
- Set
- Exit
Use the + or – button to scroll through the 3 different options. As you scroll through the options, each one in turn will be highlighted. Pressing the fire button on the highlighted menu will take you to the next level for that particular menu. Pressing the fire button on Exit will take you back to the main display screen.
Mode Menu
With the Mode menu selected, the following options are available:
- Power
- Smart
- VPC
- Bypass
- Exit
Use the + or – buttons to scroll through each of the available settings. As you scroll through each one, the one that’s highlighted can be selected by pressing the fire button.
Each of the options, with the exception of VPC, will take you back to the main display screen. VPC has a further sub-level as follows:
VPC Menu
With the VPC menu selected, the following options are available:
- Time Out: (0.5S – 2.0S in 0.1 increments)
- P1: (5W-100W adjustable)
- P2: (5W-100W adjustable)
- P3: (5W-100W adjustable)
- P4: (5W-100W adjustable)
- P5: (5W-100W adjustable)
Setting the VPC mode is straightforward and is carried out by using the + / – buttons to scroll to the parameter you wish to change. Once highlighted, press the fire button to select that option and use the + / – buttons to increase or decrease the value. When you’ve set that value, press the fire button again and use the + / – button to go to the next setting.
Continue changing all P1:P5 values to achieve your desired Power Curve. Once you’ve finished amending the values, press and hold the fire button until the display changes to the main display screen. Your amended Variable Power Curve is now set with a graphical display set with your changed values.
These values will remain set whenever VPC is selected until such time you choose to amend the values as detailed above.
Set Menu
Press the fire button 3 times then press either the + or – button to highlight the “Set” menu. Press the fire button and it will take you to the next level of adjustable parameters as outlined below:
- Theme Color: (Select 5 available colors or random)
- LED Control: (Multiple options, see next heading)
- Puff: (reset the puff counter)
- Reset: (factory reset)
- Exit
Theme color is the 0.96-inch display screen color options and LED Control is the Full Spectrum color control of the front and reverses lighting effects.
When the theme color is selected a sub-menu is shown which allows you to choose between the 5 different pre-set color screens available. There is also a Random function that can be selected.
Simply use the + / – buttons to scroll and highlight the color you want and then press the fire button. Scroll to the Exit menu and the OLED display will show in the color you chose.
LED Control
This is where all hell breaks loose! The lighting effects are something to behold.
Use the + / – buttons to scroll down to LED Control and press the fire button at your own peril!
The following sub-menus are available:
LED On
LED Off
LED Mode #: (1-10)
Bright: (1-100)
Speed: (1-100)
Multicolor
Unicolor
Red: (0-255)
Green: (0-255)
Blue: (0-255)
Exit
Use the + / – buttons to scroll down to each adjustable setting and press the fire button to highlight that setting. Once selected, you can adjust that parameter with the + / – buttons to the value you wish.
If you select Unicolor from the LED Control menu, this will switch from the multicolor function to a single color of Red (R), Green (G), and Blue (B). Each individual color is then highlighted and you can adjust each of the 3 color values from 0 to 255. This will then make any singular color possible.
I can only say, play away and have fun with the lighting effects. Your e-liquid and coils will last ages because I’ve spent the last two hours playing and not had a single vape (well I fib, I did pick up another while I was playing).
With the lights flashing away, take the battery cover off and you’ll see the entire battery compartment light up like a carnival procession. I’ve taken a couple of shots of this but to be honest you have to see it to believe it. The photos don’t do it justice, a video is needed which I did do but even after compressing it to its maximum it was still too big to upload into this review. You’re just gonna have to buy one and see for yourself!
When selecting the LED Mode, there are 10 different patterns you can choose from (1-10) and they are given names relating to the type of effect. These names will be displayed below the LED Mode number as follows:
1: Always On
2: Circle
3: Flash
4: Alternate
5: Waterfall
6: Tetris
7: Drop
8: Rise
9:Spread
10: Gather
The user manual, while being fairly detailed in the different settings, doesn’t tell you much about the different settings and what they do. To give a little insight into what the different options mean, we’ve included a brief description below:
Power Mode
Normal wattage mode. The device will operate between 5W all the way up to 100W in 0.5W increments. Holding the + or – button will scroll through the increments faster in 1W increments. There is no round robin when scrolling, once you reach the maximum you will have to press the – button to go back down and vice versa for the minimum value.
Smart Mode
Still, variable wattage BUT the Marvos X will set the recommended wattage relating to the type of coil that’s been fitted. Adjusting the wattage above the maximum specified power level for a particular coil is not permitted. The display will flash Red to warn you that you’ve reached the upper limit of the coil type.
Variable Power Curve (VPC)
This function will allow you to specify different wattages that can be applied to your coil over a vape cycle to fully customize your vaping experience. There are 5 variable wattage settings (P1:P5), each adjustable from 5W to 100W with each setting being adjustable for a time period between 0.5 seconds to 2 seconds in 0.1second increments.
If you want to further understand how VPC works, take a look at our VPC Explained guide.
Bypass Mode
Provides a direct output voltage from the battery, simulating the feel and style of a Mech mod. When this mode is selected you’re not able to adjust the wattage, the wattage you’ll vape at is determined by the voltage output of your battery.
The main larger display will indicate the Voltage that’s being applied to the coil and the smaller wattage display shows the wattage that you’re vaping at.
Be aware that in this mode, on a fully charged battery (4.2V), you could be vaping at in excess of 100W. As the battery voltage reduces so will the wattage you vaping at reduce simulating that of a mechanical mod.
Our Power, Resistance, and Current Calculator can show you the correlation between the 3 parameters.
I think that covers the functionality and what the Marvos X 100W pod mod is capable of doing. It really does have a good high-end spec function and the mood lighting / Full Spectrum Vaping is very unique. The menu structure is very intuitive to navigate though and once you’ve familiarized yourself with the options, it’s a fantastic device.
The 0.96-inch OLED screen really is a pleasure to use and see. All of the detailed information is very clearly visible and each parameter is large enough to see.
Freemax Marvos X 100W Kit Performance
The composition of both the included coils that come with the Marvos X pod mod kit is SS904 Mesh and Tea Fiber Cotton and uses the FM Coiltech 5.0 technology. There are several different coils available in the MS Mesh range but the two included in the kit are the MS-D parallel mesh coil 0.15 ohm and 0.25 ohm.
MS-D Parallel Mesh 0.15 ohm Coil
Freemax specifies the minimum and maximum wattage range for this coil is 60W-80W, best at 75W. When operated in Smart mode, the pod mod will auto-recognize the coil and set the wattage to 75W.
I won’t waffle on about e-liquid types and ratios, vapor production, and flavor profiles, other than to say the coil produces FANTASTIC results.
Even vaping at the minimum 60W is impressive. Airflow control allows such a diverse vaping style, open blows massive clouds while closing off the airflow provides a restrictive vape.
MS-D Parallel Mesh 0.25 ohm Coil
Freemax specifies the minimum and maximum wattage range for this coil as 30W-50W, best at 45W. When operated in Smart mode, the pod mod will auto-recognize the coil and set the wattage to 45W.
Need I say anymore…? Ok, I will but just one word SUPERB!
For those of you that have read any of my other reviews, you will know that I prefer a longer less power draw. My sweet spot on this coil was 22W which still produced a really good flavor.
Coil Summary
Hardly surprising, both of the coils produced incredible flavor and vapor. I’ve yet to come across a Freemax coil that I don’t like.
Freemax Marvos X 100W Battery Performance
The Marvos X 100W pod mod is powered by an external single 18650 battery which did last for approximately 6hrs of vaping while using the Smart mode setting (optimum wattage) on the 0.15ohm coil before I had to re-charge. Obviously, this is subjective and depends on your vaping style, the coil type you’re using, the capacity and age of your battery, and the wattage you’ve selected.
When vaping over 60W, I would recommend using a high-capacity battery with at least a 25A CDR value, if not err on the side of caution and use a 30A CDR value battery.
Reducing the wattage while using the 0.25ohm coil to 40W, with average vaping, gave me approximately 8hrs of vaping before the battery cut out.
The Marvos X does have “Pass-Through”, meaning if you do intend to re-charge your battery in the mod via the Type-C USB charging port, you can still vape while it’s being charged. I would recommend purchasing additional 18650 battery so you can easily swap out a discharged battery for a fully charged replacement. Also, use a reputable external battery charger to charge your battery
Please use our Battery Amp Draw/Drain Calculator to determine the correct value CDR value battery you should use for the wattage you plan to vape at.
How Do I Fill The Freemax Marvos CRC Pod?
Because the Marvos CRC pod is a top-fill design it doesn’t have to be removed from the Marvos X body, it can be easily filled in situ.
The CRC pod incorporates a child-proof lift and slide-top filling locking mechanism. It is very easy to fill. Simply lift up the spring-loaded top cap of the pod and slide back the top to reveal the filling port.
Note: The top cap section of the pod will lift up by about 2mm and you will feel it’s under pressure because of the spring mechanism. There is a small arrow just under the words “FreeMax”, which is the part that will slide back revealing the filling port.
Fill up with your favorite e-liquid through the fill port then simply slide the top cap section back and it will automatically spring back down shut.
The locking mechanism is really good, once secured there is no fear of it inadvertently opening.
How Do I Change The Coil In The Freemax Marvos CRC Pod?
Remove the Marvos CRC pod by grasping any part of it and pulling up and away to release its magnetic connection from the Marvos X body.
Because the coils are a push-fit type, simply pull the old coil out from the bottom of the pod and replace it with a new one. These MS-D coils are a secure fit so quite a lot of force will be required to prize the coil out from the base of the Marvos pod.
Do note if the pod has e-liquid in it while you’re removing the coil, e-liquid will spill from the pod. The best method to avoid this or to keep e-liquid spillage to a minimum is to hold the pod upside down (drip tip pointing downwards), place your finger tightly over the opening of the drip tip and then remove the coil.
Replace with a new coil while still holding your finger over the drip tip. Turn the pod the right way up and take your finger off the drip tip.
As always, when replacing a new coil, follow the procedure as outlined in the quick tip above under How Do I fill? section.
In order to get the maximum life out of your new coil, I would recommend always priming your coil and slowly bed the new coil in by initially taking a few draws at a low wattage. Slowly increase your wattage, each time taking a few draws until you reach your desired power level.
How Do I Charge The Freemax Marvos X 100W Pod Mod?
As with most external battery devices, there are 2 ways in which you can charge the battery. Either in the device itself or using an external charger (recommended).
If you do wish to charge your battery in the mod, the Freemax Marvos X 100W pod mod has a front-located Type-C USB charging port.
A Type-C USB charging cable comes supplied with the kit. Simply connect the cable to the USB port on the Marvos X and the other end into a suitable USB power source. The specified charging circuit of the Marvos X is 5V/2A.
When first placed on charge, the main display will show the small battery icon cycling. After approx 1 minute the screen will switch to a single battery bar in the center of the screen with the battery bars cycling to depict its charging.
The bottom of the two horizontal side lights on the front panel and the reverse channel around the battery will slowly flash red in color. As the battery charge increases the color will slowly change till it finally turns green when full charge is achieved.
After approximately 2 minutes the battery bar icon display will dim slightly after a further couple of minutes the battery icon display goes blank but the slow flashing LED lights will continue to flash until full charge is completed.
You can press any button during the charge cycle to check the battery icon status and it will follow the same sequence as above.
Once the charge cycle has been completed the battery icon will no longer cycle but show a static full battery bar and the LED lights will be extinguished.
Charging time from full discharge to fully charged will take approximately 2 hours when using a 5V/2A source. This will vary depending on the capacity of the battery you’re using.
As the Marvos X does have pass-through, you can vape while it’s on charge.
Always observe safe charging practices i.e. always charge on a non-flammable surface and NEVER leave your device unattended whilst charging.
If you prefer to charge your battery externally and I really would recommend doing this, please see our guide on the Best 18650 Battery Chargers.

Freemax Marvos X 100W Pod Mod Kit Summary
If I was going to be stranded on a desert island or spend 3 months in a remote part of the world and could only take 1 vape device with me (including spares of course), it would be this…the Marvos X. I would try and sneak the Maxus Solo too and probable the Maxus Max 168W along just for company!
For me, Freemax mods and pods really are my go-to devices. The performance is just so good, it knocks others into the shade. As I pointed out earlier in this review, if you’re after a simple device the Marvos X is easy to use. If you want to tweak and fiddle with the other options such as Bypass and VPC then this does that too.
The gem in the bag for me has got to be the overall look and feel of the Marvos X with those amazing light effects and the display. If only it had a compass, a clock, and a bottle opener then the world would be a much better place!
The flavor and vapor from the included MS-D coils really are outstanding with the coil life being very good too. Freemax continues producing some of the best coils around. The design and build quality are very good, and the operation and menu structure are straightforward and simple to use.

I would definitely recommend this device to ANYONE. I’ve just ordered two more Marvos X’s in different colors because if it got damaged or lost I would NOT be a happy chappy.
